Proper way of Wearing Lace

New York Fashion Week has officially kicked off, so as my final year in the university.
My summer was so great that I start to miss it.
The delicate Imitation Spring 2012 Collection calms me a little, at least ephemerally.
The softness, femininity and vintage-y bohemian vibe.

The show reminds me so much of Kate Moss's wedding.
Remember Kate in her delicate gown & the wonderfully-dressed bridesmaids?
The collection is filled with soft colors (mainly soft pinks and nudes), romantic lace and ruffles.

One thing the collection impresses me is that the items are very delicate and have that vintage-y vibe.
Looking at it gives me the exact feeling when I've found a treasured piece in a vintage store.
I'm a big fan of vintage items but not a fan of lace.
Still, I think people should know about the proper way of wearing lace.

Asians do wear lace, especially Japanese.
Lace almost equates sweetness and romance, sometimes sexiness, here in Asia.
Some Asians are so obsessed with it that fashion brands produce too many items with excessive lace.
Too much to a point that it becomes cheap and a bit vulgar.

With items from Imition's Collection, you'd want to look like a laid-back romantic bohemian rather than a cosplay princess.
The proper way of wearing lace is to keep things simple and subtle.
Never look like you try too hard.
(Well, these rules apply to everything though : P )

Great dress
