I'm always attracted to fashion around 1930s to 1950s; 40s Hollywood glamour & 50s femininity.
But this coming fall, the retro-inspired trend has a new element: androgynous.
Crisp white shirts (my fav!), oversize sweaters, tailored blazers...
borrowed-from-the-boys items found their way into our wardrobes.
My favorite borrowed-from-the-boys piece is shirts. (And a satchel)
And something I would never wear for this trend is loafers. I just cant picture myself looking good in those...
Several androgynous looks from the Zara Lookbook August 2011:

being ladylike even in androgynous items is what we should be aiming at.
I know that it's Coco Chanel who gave menswear a twist and made it chic to wear.
But my inspiration are definitely girly-er icons like Alexa Chung.
Love this girl. (who wouldn't?)

A simple way to embrace the trend without losing femininity: Collars.
Collar tops or collar-shaped necklaces.
Peter pan collars are everywhere starting from spring & are definitely going to stay right through fall & winter.
